Mtukudzi And Wife Daisy Collaborating On A New Album!
Our ears are doing a happy dance right now! It looks like Tuku and wife Daisy are teaming up do create something special together, making practically every fan of the power couple giddy with excitement.
Obviously, we can’t help but wonder all kinds of things upon the reveal: Will there be more songs like “Ndiwe mbabvu yangu” ? Is this going to be another surprise release like Tuku’s last album? Will there be videos? Does this mean they will be going on a tour together?!Tuku’s wife is known to lurk somewhere in the background be it at her husband’s live shows or his music business in general. Her husband takes every opportunity to parade her and to shower her with all kinds of gifts and praises. He has even sang a song for her.He lovingly calls her Dee, short for Daisy and the two are hardly not in each other’s company.Over three decades of marriage, Daisy had never dream’t of setting her foot in the studio one day , or even to record a jingle, she preferred to watch things from a distance and now she has finally done it.
However, Daisy herself had a different version, rather candid narration of what actually transpired. She says it took her away from her favorite couch where she watches her much-loved television programmes, into the studio, sometimes at night and it took her three gruelling days to get it right.
”He (Mtukudzi) told me that he wanted me to add my voice on one of the songs he had written with me in mind. I did not want to. But one evening he just came and said ‘let us go’. I love television so much so I was very upset,” said Daisy.
