Mzoe 7 Fulfills Lifelong Dream with Albert Nyathi Collaboration on “Angila Mali”

Musician Mzoe 7 has achieved a milestone in his career by collaborating with legendary poet and performer Albert Nyathi on a new track titled “Angila Mali.” The song, produced by K Martin, delivers a powerful message urging Zimbabweans in the diaspora to stay connected to their roots and invest back home to uplift their families and communities.
Set for release at the end of the month, “Angila Mali” marks a significant creative partnership between two generations of Zimbabwean artistry. The project’s visuals are being produced by cinematographer Rasquesity of Keaitse Films in collaboration with Brand Urgency. The music video will feature content creator Sporori, model Zanele Moyo, and Thabbz, promising a rich visual experience that complements the song’s message.
For Mzoe 7, the collaboration is more than just a professional achievement. It represents the fulfillment of a dream that began years ago. “I started admiring Nyathi back in the days when I saw him on television, when his song Senzeni Na! was a hit and frequently played on ZBCtv’s Ezomgido,” said Mzoe 7. “My dream had always been to meet him. Most of the time, when I finally got to see him at shows or gatherings, I became star-struck and afraid to ever ask for a collaboration. But deep down, I knew how much I wished to work with him.”
Mzoe 7 shared that social media played a key role in connecting him with the veteran artist. After posting his admiration for Nyathi on Facebook, expressing his wish to collaborate, the poet reached out to him personally. The online interaction turned a longtime aspiration into reality.
Albert Nyathi said he was inspired by Mzoe 7’s enthusiasm and creative energy. “I don’t usually do collaborations as my schedule is always busy. Besides, I consider a lot of factors before agreeing to work with anyone,” said Nyathi. “But when I saw Mzoe 7’s post about how I inspired him and that he wished to collaborate with me, I didn’t hesitate. He’s an asset to our music industry, full of energy and passion for his craft. I’m happy that I made his dream come true, and I also enjoyed working with him on this project.”
The collaboration brings together Nyathi’s poetic depth and Mzoe 7’s modern sound, blending tradition and contemporary artistry. The song’s message resonates with many Zimbabweans abroad who balance life in the diaspora with the desire to contribute to their homeland.
“Angila Mali” is expected to strike an emotional chord with listeners while showcasing the power of mentorship, respect, and creative unity in Zimbabwe’s music industry. The partnership between Mzoe 7 and Nyathi symbolizes the bridge between generations and the shared mission of using art to inspire and uplift society.
