Mzoe 7 Sparks National Conversation With New Song on GBV Against Men

Mzoe 7 has released a new single that speaks directly to the rising conversations around men’s health and the overlooked cases of Gender Based Violence against men. The track, titled Angisalali Ekhaya, dropped last week ahead of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence running from November 25 to December 10. The title means I no longer sleep at home. It reflects the fear, trauma and displacement faced by men who leave violent partners.
The song features smooth vocals from Macala and production by K Martin. Mzoe 7 uses direct storytelling to highlight the emotional and physical pain many men hide. The music video strengthens the message with strong visuals created by Keaitse Films and Brand Urgency. The cast includes Sporori, Umnikazi Wempuphu, Khalanga leNkosi and Skaiva. Their presence has pushed the song across social media and the arts community.
Mzoe 7 said the project gives a voice to men who suffer in silence. He said his work helps break the stigma that stops men from speaking about physical, emotional or psychological abuse. He added that the video uses familiar personalities to make the message clear and relatable.
He is also expanding the message through an online and community campaign titled Majita, Let’s Talk. The campaign creates safe spaces where men can discuss GBV, mental health and trauma. During the 16 Days of Activism, he will host seminars focused on open conversation, support systems and the need to challenge harmful expectations that keep men quiet.
The new single and campaign position Mzoe 7 as one of the voices pushing for broader recognition of men’s experiences in the national GBV conversation.
