Queen of praise and worship, Dorcas Moyo, has described her latest project, “Mugeri Tsvatu,” as her best album to date. The 10th album in her career was launched on Saturday at the Manicaland Showgrounds in Mutare, drawing crowds of gospel music lovers.

The album features 11 tracks, including “Denga Rina Mwari” featuring Mbeu, “Messiah Ndichamuona” featuring Nobert Mukombe and Pastor C Vhengere, “Rumbidzo Yangu,” “Panopfurika,” “Wamunodisa,” “Kazevezeve,” “Munamato” featuring Samantha Love, “Jerusarema,” “Wodalitsika” featuring Dr Ethel Kamwendo Banda, “Mubatsiri Wangu” featuring Tinashe Mutsigo, and the title track “Mugeri Tsvatu.”

Celebrating 20 years in the music industry, Dorcas has been a leading female gospel artist since her breakthrough song “Haakotsire.” She said the album is dedicated to anyone facing challenges or harm, emphasizing faith in God’s protection.

“This is my best album ever and I have made it for everyone who feels targeted or threatened. Everything planned to hurt you has no power because God fights for us. All evil plans against you will fail,” Dorcas said.

She also revealed plans to launch the album in the United Kingdom in October, aiming to connect with her diaspora fans. The album release coincides with her second consecutive nominations at the CLIMA Africa Awards.

The highlight of the launch came when sungura legend Alick Macheso joined Dorcas on stage, performing their duet “Mhanza Haisekwi” and several of Macheso’s hits, including “Charakupa,” “Baba naMai,” and “Shedia.” Mathias Mhere and Baba Harare, who recently returned to Jiti Music, also supported Dorcas on stage. Mai Charamba, Suluman Chimbetu, Africa Praise, and Hosiah Chipanga performed during the event.

Dorcas also congratulated fellow musician Agartha Murudzwa on her album launch in Harare, praising her talent and dedication.

Looking ahead, Dorcas Moyo will tour the United States in November, further expanding her reach and connecting with her global fan base.
