Dynamos finally win
After a five-game winless streak, Dynamos Football Club finally found their form, scoring three goals to beat ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The first goal came in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Elton Chikona, a junior team graduate before Donald Mudadi scored a thumping effort just before halftime, doubling the lead to two goals going to the half time break.
In the second half, Dynamos continued to dominate, with Mudadi scoring a second goal in injury time, which secured a 3-nil victory for dembare.
Herbert Maruwa, Dembare’s head coach, expressed his relief at the result and emphasized the importance of maintaining the momentum for their next game against Black Rhinos.
“Like I have been saying, the goals will come, today they came and now we prepare for our next game versus Black Rhinos and we need to make sure we get a positive result. Today we came striong and managed to secure 3 points”.
Despite rumours of an ultimatum, Maruwa confirmed that he was focused on the game and had not received any directive from management. “It’s news to me. I have been reading it in the newspapers, it’s news to me, what I know is I am preparing for the game against Black Rhinos”.
The win over ZPC Kariba lifted Dynamos into 6th position with 18 points, 4 less than log leaders Highlanders who top the standings with 22 points from 12 matches. Dynamos are chasing for a first league championship since 2014. When Dynamos last won the league, the glamour boy’s current gaffer was assistant coach to Callisto Pasuwa.
