Zimbabwe’s domestic topflight action resumes this weekend with rearranged matchday 3 fixtures taking stage across four venues.
The Premier Soccer League was last played on November 28, 2021 before it took a short break to pave the way for the Chibuku Super Cup final which saw FC Platinum clinching the coveted trophy following a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win over Ngezi Platinum Stars at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.
However, Ngezi Platinum Stars who still have bruises from the Chibuku Super Cup final loss will be looking forward to vent their anger on Herentals when the two sides meet at the Baobab Stadium on Saturday.
Also having drawn in their last league encounter away to Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium 11 days ago Madamburo will be hoping to put their title challenge back on track by grinding a positive result against the Students.
With the home advantage on their side the Mhondoro Ngezi based outfit will be anticipating for better fortunes and bounce back to winning ways.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 crisis has hit the topflight league forcing the custodians of the country’s flagship competition the Premier Soccer League to postpone five games which were previously scheduled for this week as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus.
The postponed matches include the Dynamos versus Cranborne Bullets tie, Manica Diamonds clash against Highlanders, ZPC Kariba’s home date with Triangle, the Wha Wha versus Bulawayo City match as well as Caps United’s trip to Black Rhinos.
