Musona super free-kick leads poll

The astonishing free-kick scored by Knowledge Musona in the group H Africa cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria has earned a significant number of votes in a poll where Caf has requested for fans to choose their preferred goal.

Musona currently leads the poll with 49.4% of the vote with 3 hours remaining for the voting to close. Musona is followed by Riyaad Mahrez who has accrued 43.4% of the vote while Andre Ayew and Ibrahim Amada have both posted 3.6% of the vote.

This has left it as a two horse trace between Musona and Mahrez. While Musona’s free-kick was top drawer, Mahrez also scored a wonder strike after controlling with his outfoot before leaving his markers for dead, chipping in with a goal which underlined his status as one of the top footballers in the world.

Musona’s pin-point free-kick is among the most spectacular dead balls scored by a player in Warriors colours. The goal was vital in invigorating hopes of a comeback in Zimbabwe’s 2-2 draw against Algeria.
