NetOne Launches 2025 Albun Honde Valley Marathon to Promote Wellness and Tourism

NetOne has officially launched the 2025 edition of the Albun Honde Valley Marathon, strengthening its commitment to promoting health, community development, and tourism in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands.

The event, now one of the country’s most anticipated annual sports gatherings, aims to combine fitness, social impact, and environmental appreciation under one banner.

Speaking at the official press launch, NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani described the marathon as “a movement — a celebration of health, wellness, community spirit, and the breathtaking beauty of our Eastern Highlands.”

He emphasized that the marathon supports Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), particularly its focus areas of health, well-being, and tourism. “We believe that a healthy nation is a productive nation, and initiatives such as this marathon serve as vital platforms to encourage physical activity, mental wellness, and community unity,” Mushanawani said.

The Albun Honde Valley Marathon has become a key event in promoting both sports and tourism in Manicaland Province. The scenic route through the Eastern Highlands provides athletes and visitors with stunning views, showcasing Zimbabwe’s natural beauty while drawing attention to the region’s potential as a top travel destination.

The 2025 edition will feature multiple race categories, including professional, amateur, and community fun runs, designed to attract both elite athletes and recreational runners. The event will also include family-friendly activities, local exhibitions, and entertainment to engage the wider community.
