Ghana hold first session as Warriors begin acclimatisation

Recently appointed Ghana Head Coach Milovan Rajevac on Tuesday evening took the Black Stars through their paces ahead of the crucial back-to-back encounters against Zimbabwe.

The immediate focus for Ghana will be Saturday’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier against Zimbabwe which will be key in ultimately determining whether they are able to put their qualification hopes back on track following a 1-nil loss to South Africa in their last encounter.

With Rajevac roped in to revive Ghana’s hopes the Black Stars are hoping to overcome a Zimbabwean side which is equally eager to bounce back from the slumber of a 1-nil loss to minnows Ethiopia in their last World Cup qualifier at the Bahir Dar International Stadium on 7 September.

Ghana will be missing 5 players that had been called into camp but the availability of key players such as the Ayew brothers and Arsenal’s Thomas Partey makes them an equally dangerous team.

While Ghana kick started their preparations with a training session on Tuesday evening Zimbabwe left the country yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon headed for South Africa where they were expected to link up with players based in South Africa and Zambia.

Following the sacking of Zdravko Logarusic Zimbabwe will be hoping for better fortunes under interim coach Norman Mapeza.
