Sri Lanka Added to Zimbabwe’s 2025 Cricket Calendar for Exciting Five-Match Series

Zimbabwe cricket fans have another thrilling series to look forward to in 2025, as Sri Lanka becomes the latest international team scheduled to visit the country. The Asian former champions are set to face the Chevrons in a highly anticipated five-match red-ball and white-ball series, all hosted at the iconic Harare Sports Club.
The tour will feature two One Day Internationals (ODIs) on August 29 and 31, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) on September 3, 6, and 7. All five matches will be played in Zimbabwe’s capital, making it a home-ground advantage for the Chevrons.
Zimbabwe Cricket’s Managing Director, Givemore Makoni, expressed excitement about the upcoming clash. “We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka’s visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series,” Makoni said. “Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign.”
The series holds particular significance for Zimbabwe’s T20 side. The three T20 matches will act as vital preparation ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, scheduled to take place from 19 September to 4 October in Zimbabwe. This regional tournament will determine the final two African qualifiers for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Cricket enthusiasts can expect intense competition as Zimbabwe aims to sharpen its skills and test strategies against a seasoned Sri Lankan side. The series also marks another important step in Zimbabwe’s busy international calendar as the country seeks to re-establish itself on the global cricket stage.
Fans are encouraged to mark their calendars and support the Chevrons as they take on Sri Lanka in what promises to be an exciting blend of red-ball endurance and fast-paced T20 action at the Harare Sports Club later this year.
