Tapuwa Kapini criticises warriors selection
Former Zimbabwe national soccer team goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini has criticised the Warriors selection criteria in the aftermath of Zimbabwe’s 3-1 defeat to Algeria yesterday evening.
Following Zimbabwe’s loss Kapini took to facebook and said, “I can say I am happy that when I was playing for the national team I was picked through performance not by social media thats my Opinion. These days you can play College or Sunday league football and the agents can post you and you will be called for national duty”.
Kapini appears to referring to Ovidy Karuru who received a Warriors call despite the fact that he currently has no club and is inactive. the inclusion of the midfield has in recent weeks caused a stir with fans, analysts and various stakeholders questioning Zdravcko logarusic’s selection criteria.
Also to come into question was the calling up of Dynamos midfielder King Nadolo who has been inactive owing to the absence of domestic football locally.
