Undertaker registers first win

Former Warriors skipper Benjani “Undertaker” Mwaruwari is basking in glory after managing to collect his first set of three points away in Kariba at the weekend.
Madamburo edged ZPC Kariba 1-0 at Nyamhunga Stadium on Saturday to move to within 6 points of log leaders Dynamos who are on 26 after matchday 12.
A solitary strike by dependable forward Tendai Musariranwa as early as the second minute was all that the visitors needed to switch off Kariba on a day they desperately needed to win.
Since taking the lead, Mwaruwari’s troops started to enjoy most of the ball possession and kept the hosts at bay as the match went to the breather with Ngezi leading 1-0.
There was no much activity to talk about in the second stanza as the Ngezi defence did not give room to the ZPC Kariba strike force of Moses Demera and Vassili Kawe.
After the match the Ngezi coach was elated with the victory and saluted his lads for their fighting spirit.
“I am happy with the result, the boys applied themselves very well from the start to the end. It was not an easy game but the most important thing is that we managed to grind the result, which is my first win since taking over the reins as head coach of this club,” said Mwaruwari.
Ngezi will now shift their attention to their next encounter with the major focus being remaining consistent if they are to stage a successful title challenge.
