Usher Steals $9500 From Makandiwa

A church member at Makandiwa’s church who was hired as the stock controller at Makandiwa’s Media Productions Company reportedly stole $9500 from the video-discs money. His duties were to distribute service video discs and sell them.

24 year old Tendai Guchu pleaded guilty and told the court he used the money to buy a car and a residential stand because he had gone for months without salary.

Guchu had reportedly distributed the video discs to other sales people and he collected the money saying he’d take it back to the church before he took it for his personal use resulting in the church losing $9500.

Harare Magistrate Ms Nomsa Sabarauta gave Guchu 24 months imprisonment with four months suspended for five years on condition of good behavior. 16 months were suspended on condition he restitutes the $9500 before June the 30th and the remaining four months were suspended on condition he performs 140hours of community service at Chinembiri Primary School.
