Zimbabwe Is The 2nd Poorest Country In The World According To The Global Finance Magazine
Zimbabwe has come second poorest country in the world according to an analysis by The Global Finance Magazine just after Congo which tops the list.
The magazine ranked the world’s countries according to their GDP per capita and determined the poorest and richest ones. The analysis also used a Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) basis, which takes into account the living cost and inflation rates, in order to compare living standards between the different nations.
According to the report, in 2013 Zimbabwean people earned $589.25 on average.
Nine of the countries in the top ten poorest countries in the world are African countries which are: Burundi, Liberia, Eritrea, Central African Republic, Niger, Malawi and Madagascar rounding up the top nine. Afghanistan, the first non African country on the list comes in at 10.
