2 more Zimbabweans die of corona virus

In a sad development, two Zimbabwean nationals living in the United Kingdom are reported to have the succumbed to the Coronavirus yesterday. The now-deceased COVID-19 patients have been identified as Gardner Madzongo, an accountant, and Sikhanyisiwe Kaziboni who was a health worker. The highly infectious respiratory disease caused by the new coronavirus has already caused the death of over 560 people and infected 26 382 in the United Kingdom.

According to social media reports obtained by the publication, Madzongo, who lived in Luton, reportedly died yesterday afternoon after battling for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at Luton and Danstable Hospital. Madzongo, who lived in Luton, is reported to have started exhibiting symptoms of the respiratory disease last week leading to his admission at the hospital where he died. A friend to the now-deceased, confirmed the unfortunate development on social media platform, Facebook.

The tragic development comes two weeks after a 19-year-old Zimbabwean national living in the United States America also died from the coronavirus (Covid-19).As of Thursday night, COVID-19 had infected nine in Zimbabwe and caused the death of one person, 30-year-old Zororo Makamba who had just returned from a trip to New York. The death of Makamba serves as an eye opener to people who had been taking the disease for granted and not heeding to calls to to take precautionary measures.
