Berita graces Vutha Magazine cover.
Zimbabwean songstress who is based in South Africa Berita recently shared images of her latest project in Zim. The afro soul musician was asked to Grace the magazine cover of popurlar publication Vutha Magazine. The magazine was established in Bulawayo, Berita’s hometown.
Berita is their cover girl for the August/September issue. The theme for the issue is Power and Berita is clearly the ideal candidate for such a bold topic. Berita could not hide her excitement as she shared snaps from the shoot. She also made some remarks about being picked to represent women and power. She wrote on her Instagram page, ” I must say for years I’ve struggled with the concept of Power as it’s always been potrayed as a masculine, who driven concept. ..Truly honored to be on a magazine cover from my hometown Bulawayo”.
Berita’s make up, hairdo and outfits were all symbolic of the Power concept. Even the way she posed showed confidence and a strong sense of strength thereby redefining the way society views women and power as one unit.
Other famous celebrities to Grace the cover of the magazine include Ammara Brown, Tamy Moyo and Kim Jayde. Berita is another pretty face and big voice I add onto the list. In spite of having enjoyed huge success in South Africa, Berita still keeps in touch with her roots. She occasionally visits Zim and a few months ago, she staged a free show at the Bulawayo art gallery. She said that it was her way of consoling her people who ad to bear the brunt of living in a tough economic environment.
Berita has shared the stage with big names such as the late Oliver Mtukudzi and Hugh Masekela. She as toured several countries and continues to shine with her soulful music. She recently released a new single.
