Constantine Murefu Honored as Distinguished Christian Educator
Constantine Murefu, the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) International deputy president, was recently celebrated for his exceptional contributions to Christian education. On Saturday, during the Christian Ministry Training Institute (CMTI)’s fourth graduation and ninth ordination ceremony, Murefu received the prestigious Distinguished Christian Educator award.
Recognizing Excellence in Christian Education
Bishop Christopher Choto, president of CMTI, commended Murefu’s dedication, describing his efforts as both inspirational and transformative.
“This award symbolizes our deepest gratitude for your remarkable contributions. Your legacy inspires us to continue pursuing excellence in Christian education,” Bishop Choto remarked during the ceremony.
Murefu’s 46-year-long career has significantly shaped theological education in Zimbabwe and beyond. As the first African principal of Living Waters Theological College, he founded over 15 AFM assemblies during his tenure, solidifying his reputation as a theologian, pastor, and academician.
A Lifetime of Dedication
Highlighting Murefu’s impact, Bishop Choto noted that his unwavering dedication and passion for education have equipped countless individuals for service in the body of Christ. “Your tireless efforts have shaped the minds and hearts of countless students, strengthened local churches, and advanced Christian education globally,” Choto added.
Murefu’s influence extends beyond theological colleges. He lectured part-time at the University of Zimbabwe, where he also served in the ecumenical chaplaincy. His work in theological education within AFM International, coupled with his role as a marriage officer and conference speaker, demonstrates a broad commitment to ministry and education.
