“I am surviving on soya chunks” Diana Samkange reaches out to Nash tv
Diana Samkange commonly known as Mangwenya made a startling confession recently that left many people speechless. The singer made a heartfelt plea to Nash tv and revealed that things were not all rosy for the ‘kumagumo’ hitmaker. Diana said things were not going well for her financially and asked for a gig from the prestigious online television platform.
Diana made the confession on the Nash tv Facebook page and wrote”Nash tv tipeiwo mabasa, tiri kudawo kudzoka kuHarare..” literally translated to mean “Nash tv please give us jobs, we also want to come back to Harare”. She went on today that some artists let me her had to relocate to the rural areas because of failure to get gigs and promotions. She also claimed to be suffering greatly and said her diet now mainly consisted of soya chunks.
The heartbreaking confession left many fans lost for words. Indeed the music industry ha not been very kind to most artists who can barely make a living in this environment. The current lockdown has also made life even more unbearable for artists due to cancellation of live shows and gigs. Although Nash tv has been a welcome relief for most artists, clearly Diana feels left out.
Nash tv live gigs have become such a phenomenon and generated a lot of interest. The shows have also come as a lifeline for most artists in this harsh economy environment.
It remains to be seen whether Nash tv will take heed of Diana’s plea and offer her a chance. The online platform recently had fans excited after roping in South African sensation Mafikizolo on Friday although the show was later cancelled.
