“I will honor your life..I love you”. Acie Lumumba grieves over Dzamara

Acie Lumumba is genuinely aggrieved over the death of Patson Dzamara. The loud spoken Lumumba took to social media to express his grief at the loss of a colleague. The two were friends fighting for the same cause. They were often spotted together at public gatherings and rallies.

Lumumba said he will continue to honour his late friend. He also vowed to take care of his daughter whom he said was also his own. He wrote on social media,” Sleep my brother. Watch over us. I will honor your life I promise. Don’t worry about your little girl, I got her, she is my daughter too. I love you. Head bowed”. These emotional words clearly reveal how hard it has been for the grief stricken Lumumba. He could not even bring himself to view the body during the funeral. Dzamara succumbed to colon cancer.

Lumumba was still in the process of rubbishing death claims on his life. Social media was full of comments that he had passed away in an accident, claims which he denied. Little did he know that his close friend was living his last days. MDC A president Nelson Chamisa claimed that Dzamara had been poisoned by state agents. He said it must have happened during one of the periods that he was incarcerated. His brother Itayi, a journalist also disapeared under unclear circumstances.

Dzamara was a strong activist who spoke against injustices. He was well known on the political scene following the disappearance of his brother. Most people were saddened by his death
