Ray Bamala Crowned Mister Businessman World 2026 as Zimbabwean Talent Shines on Global Stage

Zimbabwean entrepreneur, model, musician and cultural advocate Ray Bamala has achieved international recognition after being crowned Mister Businessman World 2026, a prestigious title that celebrates leadership, entrepreneurship and positive community influence. Based in New York City, Bamala, who is also popularly known as Ray Jive Ndlela Bamala, continues to build a name for himself across multiple industries while proudly representing Zimbabwe on global platforms. His victory reflects years of dedication, sacrifice and persistence in business, entertainment and advocacy. The international title recognises individuals who go beyond appearance and demonstrate vision, communication skills, professionalism and social impact. For Bamala, the achievement represents more than personal success because it also highlights the growing influence of Zimbabwean talent on the world stage.

Bamala recently completed a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing and Media in New York while also earning a certificate in the Business of Entertainment. His educational achievements have strengthened his understanding of branding, media strategy and entrepreneurship, areas that continue to shape his growing career. He explained that winning Mister Businessman World 2026 marked one of the most important milestones in his life and reinforced his commitment to inspiring others through culture, leadership and business. The competition itself focuses on intellect, confidence, advocacy and the ability to influence communities positively. Contestants are expected to demonstrate purpose, professionalism and a strong understanding of leadership beyond the fashion and entertainment industries. Bamala’s combination of education, business ambition and cultural advocacy helped him stand out on the international stage.

Speaking about the honour, Bamala said receiving the title recognised his leadership, entrepreneurship, public speaking abilities, confidence and cultural representation. He noted that the award also reflected his commitment to using his platform to inspire communities across the world. His journey into leadership began at an early age when he became the youngest Scripture Union chairperson at just 14 years old during his high school years. According to Bamala, the responsibility taught him discipline, resilience, communication and the importance of guiding others positively. Those early leadership experiences helped shape the confidence and determination that continue to define his career today. His story has become an example of how early opportunities and strong values can help build future success.

Bamala’s rise to international recognition did not come easily because his journey was shaped by hardship, struggle and determination. During his participation in the Mister Zimbabwe competition in 2021, he designed a Shangani-inspired outfit that symbolised perseverance and resilience in difficult circumstances. At the time, he was working as a vendor in Harare and often woke before sunrise to buy stock before spending long hours selling products throughout the day. He revealed that there were days when he made no sales at all, yet he refused to give up on his dreams. Those experiences taught him patience, endurance and faith while strengthening his determination to succeed. His story resonates with many young Zimbabweans who continue to face economic challenges while pursuing their ambitions.

The difficult experiences he faced later inspired his motivational music single, Shanda Mwanangu, a song that encourages people to pray, work hard and remain focused despite obstacles. Through music, Bamala has continued to spread messages of hope, perseverance and self-belief. His passion for advocacy also extends into acting, where he has worked with Wildcut Productions on awareness campaigns tackling drug abuse and gender-based violence. These campaigns included performances and community tours across Zimbabwe aimed at educating and empowering communities. By using entertainment as a tool for social change, Bamala has shown that artists and public figures can play an important role in addressing social issues. His work continues to combine creativity with meaningful community engagement.

Over the years, Bamala has earned several accolades that reflect his growing influence in pageantry, advocacy and public speaking. His previous achievements include winning Mister Glamour Zimbabwe People’s Choice 2025 and Mister Zimbabwe Prince Ambassador 2021. He also secured a Top 20 finish in Zim Top Model while receiving recognition for advocacy, cultural representation and communication skills. These accomplishments have helped build his reputation as a versatile figure who blends entertainment, entrepreneurship and leadership. Despite his growing success, Bamala believes the Mister Businessman World 2026 title carries unique significance because it represents global recognition of his journey and purpose. For him, the award proves that people from humble beginnings can achieve international success through persistence and hard work.

Bamala said being recognised internationally as a Zimbabwean sends a powerful message that dreams remain possible regardless of background or circumstances. He explained that the achievement motivates him to continue empowering young people while promoting African culture, entrepreneurship and positive leadership. Currently based in New York, he remains focused on projects linked to media, branding, music, cultural advocacy and entrepreneurship. Through his work, he continues to represent Zimbabwe internationally while building platforms that inspire and uplift others. His story reflects determination, faith and the power of refusing to surrender during difficult times. As Mister Businessman World 2026, Ray Bamala now carries not only a prestigious international title but also the responsibility of inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams with courage and discipline.
