Cyclone unites local comedians

Zimbabweans have put up a united front in order to assist victims of the cyclone Idai that ravaged parts of the country recently. Donations were made from all sectors and various help centres were established around the country.

However after the tragic loss of life and destruction of infrastructure a little humour is surely set to lighten up the dark environment engulfing the nation at the moment. Several local comedians have lined up a comedy fundraising comedy show slated for the 29th of March.

The event will feature perfomances by the Comic pastor who is popular for his skits on bustop tv. Another comedian who is set to ignite the stage with his funny acts is King Kandoro of the Madhorofiya republic skits who is also a stand up comedian. Other perfomers will be Brain, Patrick the one liner, Ian phiri and Hupepe chule among others.

The event will be held at the Rainbow towers with an admission fee of 10 rtgs dollars. All proceeds of the show will be given away to the victims of the cyclone. Those with items they would want to donate are also invited to come foward with them.

The comedians will surely keep their audience roaring with laughter as they put on their best acts for a good humanitarian cause. The initiative has revealed how at times tragedy can bring together artists and it is highly commendable that the comedians have sacrificed their time to work for charity

Comedy has of late been a popular culture in the country. The show is expected to attract a large crowd for the love of comedy and better yet for the mere fact that it is for a humanitarian cause.
