T Gonzi recovers
Zimdancehall artist T Gonzi has defied odds and made a shocking recovery after a brutal attack that left him battling for his life in ICU a few weeks ago. T Gonzi narrated how he had been robbed of his phone and other valuables and mercilessly assaulted by some purpoted taxi drivers who later turned out to be thieves.
He had hired the taxi on his way home from a studio recording session in Newlands. The thieves had pounced on him and stabbed him in the head before dumping his lifeless body in the street.
T Gonzi assured his fans that he had received treatment and was on the road to recovery. He said one of the bones in his skull had to be removed and put on his stomach in a reconstructive surgery to save his life.
T Gonzi expressed gratitude to all those who had stood by him following the attack. He further advised that he was not going to stop churning out hit after hit and that the near death experience had made him stronger.
T Gonzi is a well known artist in zimdancehall circles and has released songs such as ‘murikufeeler sei’, ‘handichambokufunga and ‘hurombo’. He has collaborated with the likes of Cindy Munyavi and Confused.
After the attack celebrities had appealed to the nation to remember T Gonzi in prayers. Regrettably cases of robbery and assault are on the increase and as the artist acknowledged himself, he was lucky to escape alive
