Everton Mlalazi Earns First eSwatini National Gospel Awards Nomination

Multi-award-winning Zimbabwean gospel musician Everton Mlalazi is celebrating a career milestone after receiving his first nomination at the eSwatini National Gospel Awards. The recognition places him among the leading gospel voices on the African continent.
The awards, set for November 8 at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapha, aim to become a key platform for showcasing and uplifting gospel talent across eSwatini and Africa. The event has positioned itself as a beacon for celebrating gospel excellence while fostering collaboration among artists from different countries.
Mlalazi secured a nomination in the Best of Africa Artiste category. He will compete against respected names such as South Africa’s Sbu Noah and Andile KaMajola, Nigeria’s Easter Igbelege, Swaziland’s Nothando Hlophe, Cameroon’s Cornel Grace, South Sudan’s Musa John Haroun, and Mozambique’s Edson.
Reacting to the news, Mlalazi expressed both gratitude and disbelief. “I am honestly still in shock. To be recognised on a continental stage like this is something I never imagined. I am grateful to God for the gift and grateful to my followers for their support. I am deeply humbled by this gesture – just the nomination alone is huge and enough reason to be grateful,” he said.
Mlalazi has steadily built a strong reputation in the gospel industry, winning multiple awards in Zimbabwe and collaborating with some of the most celebrated voices in African gospel music. His nomination highlights not only his growing influence beyond Zimbabwe but also the role of gospel music as a unifying force across the continent.
The eSwatini National Gospel Awards will bring together artists, producers, and fans for a night dedicated to celebrating the impact of gospel music. For Mlalazi, this recognition marks another step in his mission to spread hope and faith through his music on a global stage.
