Musicians Invest In Education Through Music

Zimbabwe’s top urban music artists will host a concert to fundraise for school stationary. The show will be called ‘Nhaka Yehupenyu’ which is scheduled on Saturday 2nd June 2018 at the Long Chen Plaza from 9am-6pm.

According to one of the organisers, Leonard Mapfumo, the concert was born out of the realisation that many students were struggling to acquire sufficient stationary. A lot of the artists are originally from high density suburbs.

The artists in the performing and music industry will come together for a unique fundraiser, not to collect monetary donations, but to ask for contributions in the form of stationary, pens, notepads, paper, books, calculators, anything that a child may require at school as a form of donation.

The line up will include Snipper, Leonard Mapfumo, Sanii Makhalima, ExQ, Roki, Shinsoman, Good child, Cindy, Extra-large, DJ Mbale, Madiz, and Nesto.

Other artists will include former M’afriq members Tunga T, DJ Dscord and Pauline Gundidza. Trevor Dongo Ngoni Kambarami, Nyasha David, Scepter and Kuma fitness will also perform at the event.

The intention is to make this an annual program. The program should become an annual music festival for the communities to enable a brighter future for the children of Zimbabwe.
