July Worship Music Festival Set to Elevate Emerging Gospel Voices Alongside Established Stars

The July Worship Music Festival is preparing for one of its most dynamic editions yet, bringing together established gospel heavyweights and a new wave of emerging talent. The event has grown into a major highlight on Zimbabwe’s gospel calendar, attracting large audiences and strong media attention each year. This year’s edition will take place with a clear focus on expanding opportunity while maintaining high production standards. Organisers aim to balance seasoned performers with fresh voices who are stepping onto a major stage for the first time. The result is a lineup that reflects both experience and new energy in the gospel music scene.

A wide mix of artists has been confirmed for the stage at the festival, which will be held at Glamis Arena in Harare, Zimbabwe, a major venue known for hosting large-scale events. July Worship Music Festival continues to position itself as a platform that blends worship, creativity, and performance excellence. Among the emerging artists set to perform are Samantha Simangaliso, Tinashe Muponda, Tapiwa Masara, Saiwe Chimbetu, Evidence Gundani and Nyarai Gweshe. The lineup also includes younger hip hop influenced acts such as Whistle Inspires, Swazy, Yeomie Kay and Jason Gwanzura. On the seasoned side, performers like The Cherayis, Eleana Makombe, Sir Benjamin Rupapa, Bridget Ndanga, and hosts Minister Micheal Mahendere and Vimbai will also take the stage. The mix of genres and generations signals a deliberate effort to broaden the festival’s appeal while keeping its worship foundation intact.

One of the most anticipated debut appearances comes from Samantha Simangaliso, who views her inclusion as a major milestone in her ministry journey. She has expressed gratitude for the opportunity and described it as a defining moment in her growth as a gospel artist. Samantha Simangaliso has also emphasized that her performance will focus on delivering both musical excellence and spiritual encouragement to the audience. She expects her set to inspire faith and remind listeners of God’s goodness through worship. Her presence highlights the festival’s commitment to introducing new voices who bring both passion and purpose to the stage.

Another newcomer, Evidence Gundani, is also preparing for what he describes as a breakthrough moment in his career. He has shared excitement about joining a platform he considers influential in shaping gospel music direction in the region. Evidence Gundani plans to deliver a performance built on high energy worship and impactful praise moments designed to connect deeply with the audience. He has also acknowledged the importance of being given a platform alongside more established artists. His inclusion reflects the festival’s growing role in identifying and supporting rising talent within the gospel industry.

Tinashe Muponda is also among the first time performers and sees the event’s theme, Highest Praise, as closely aligned with his musical calling. He has described his participation as both an honour and a confirmation of his direction in ministry. Tinashe Muponda aims to deliver a spirit filled performance that focuses on praise centered worship and audience engagement. He has also praised the consistency of the festival’s organisation and its ability to maintain high standards year after year. His expectations reflect a wider appreciation among artists for the professionalism associated with the event.

The continued growth of the festival is strongly linked to its founder Minister Micheal Mahendere, who has emphasised the importance of creating space for emerging voices. Michael Mahendere has positioned the event as both a celebration and a development platform for gospel talent. He has highlighted that Zimbabwe has a deep pool of gifted artists who often lack access to major stages. This year’s focus includes a special hip hop gospel segment designed to connect with younger audiences while maintaining a worship message. As the festival returns to Glamis Arena, the expectation is that the blend of established names and rising artists will strengthen its influence and shape future opportunities in gospel music.
