Ngezi Platinum look to reclaim pole position

Ngezi Platinum Stars aims to reclaim the top spot in the Premier Soccer League rankings with a match against Yadah FC at the National Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The platinum miners were on Sunday dislodged from the apex after Highlanders registered a 1 nil win over Bulawayo Chiefs to move top of the standings with 22 points.

Madamburo dropped to fourth with 20 points but the Mhondoro based side could however return to the summit if they manage to get the better of Yadah Fc on Monday.

However, a win against Yadah FC would bring Ngezi Platinum back to the top. This match should provide some exciting football as Yadah is known for their thrilling brand of play, while Ngezi Platinum has become a formidable team under their recent project, which has brought up promising talent from their under-19s.

While a win would propel Ngezi Platinum back to the summit a draw would see Madamburo move to second place. A defeat would however see the Platinum miners stay fourth.

With Yadah FC just 3 points above the drop zone, a win will be crucial in their bid to move as far away as possible from the drop zone.

Ngezi platinum Styars head into Monday’s clash on the back of a morale boosting 2-1 win over Dynamos in their last fixture. Yadah also head into Monday’s clash on the back of a victory after overcoming Manica Diamonds 1 nil.

The last time the two sides met Yadah emerged 1 nil victors resulting in the sacking of then Ngezi Platinum Head Coach Benjani Mwaruwari.
