The founder of Moto Republik Sam Farai Monro says the name was chosen because they feel “moto” stands for flames of creativity while “Republik” shows that it’s a vibrant, interdependent community.

Moto Republik is set to be the first Southern Africa’s fully serviced Creative Hub which will be a co-worker space for artists, designers, innovators, creative entrepreneurs, new media practitioners, citizen journalists and youth activists.

The hub will provide high speed internet and meeting/event space. It will also have a café. Moto Republik will be open 7 days a week with flexible working hours.

Applications for membership will be open soon with different membership tiers. The basic package will be $15 per month, giving members access to the internet and working space. The other packages range from $50 to $100 with varying benefits. All members will have discount on food and refreshments from the café.

The Hub’s vision is to provide and allow room for collaboration and the fusion of entrepreneurial practice among the Zimbabwean creative community.
