Key factors which have propelled Kadewere to the top

1. A strong football background

One of the fundamental factors which often determine one’s level success is the foundation that one gets in life. For Tinotenda Kadewere this particularly rings true given the strong football background of the Kadewere family. Tinotenda’s brother Prosper was a very talented footballer who turned out for first division side Zimbabwe Crackers and was so talented that he was called up to the Zimbabwe under 20 team. Prosper may have not realised his potential owing to injury but football was in his genes. The late Prince Kadewere is another of the football prodigies to emerge from the Kadewere family. Prince also turned out for junior national teams before turning out for topflight side Monomotapa FC as well as Sporting Lions. To cap it all off Tinotenda Kadewere’s late father Onias was a footballer himself before forming Highfield academy. The strong football family in the Kadewere family is thus another key factor which has propelled Tino to success.

2) Pursuing football from an early age is another of the key factors to have propelled Tinotenda Kadewere to professional football. After kicking off his football career at primary school in Highfield, Tino pursued the game from a young age and was often vote player of the tournament at primary school football events. Tino would also be a key player at Highfield academy where he honed his skills during a period in which he also featured prominently for Prince Edward High School. Having always had a ball at his feet from a tender age vastly played a huge part in the development of the lanky forward.

3) Good agent

Talent alone often proves not enough in itself given the growing importance of having a good agent. Though rejected by Harare giants Dynamos Tino Kadewere would secure his first breakthrough when he made a move to Harare City. Thanks to having a well-connected agent Gibson Mahachi, Kadewere secured a move to Swedish side Djurgadens straight from the Zimbabwe premier league. From Djurgadens Kadewere moves to Le Havre where top performances in the ligue 2 caught the eye of French giants Olympique Lyon. Mahachi was again instrumental in helping the young Zimbabwean forward make the right choice amid plenty of attention from sides in the Middle East.

4) Dedication and hard work

These key factors have been one of the crucial reasons why Kadewere currently plays Ligue 1 football. As a teenager at Harare City Kadewere was lanky and lacked the physicality to withstand the stamina of European defenders. After moving to Europe Kadewere had to put in extra work in the gym and thanks to his dedication the prolific forward now has the perfect muscle and perfect physical frame.

5) Stable family

Young footballers often lose focus owing to the demands of high level football and the influence of friends around them. Tino has however had a stable marriage and now has 2 children, thus allowing him to merely focus on football and family. Night’s out are a common phenomena among single professional footballers but with Tino boasting of a stable family, focusing on his football has become much easier.

6) Christian background

Strong Christian values can be viewed as another critical aspect in the growth of Tinotenda Kadewere. With discipline and hard work being among key christian values, Kadewere’s road to success has been a lot easier. Tinotenda’s social media platforms often glorify the power of God thus allowing the footballer to maintain focus on achieving his goal’s through hard work and a strong Christian grounding.

7) Charity work, doing good is often underestimated yet widely viewed as fundamental to propelling one to success. After forming the Kadewere foundation, the Kadewere family made a decision to five back to the Highfield community. In 2019 Kadewere through his foundation gave back to the Highfield community after paying school fees to underprivelaged children. Through such kind deed’s those of Christian belief will tell you this is where blessings emanate from.

8) Young age

With Kadewere still just 24 years of age and already playing for a club as big as Olympique Lyon, the Warriors forward still has a lot of time on his side. This is largely due to the fact that Kadewere made his first European breakthrough at a very young age. With aspirations of moving to an even bigger club, Kadewere has plenty of time to develop and mature before his next big move.

9) Quick adaptation

While many African footballers often have trouble adapting to the European environment and the demands of professional football, the Warriors forward had no such trouble adapting. From playing in Sweden to moving to France where a totally new language awaited, Kadewere was quick to adapt and assimilate himself into a different culture.

10) Physical stature

Being naturally tall coupled with gum work has seen Kadewere develop a frame perfect to meeting the demands of European football where forwards have to contest against tough and strong defenders. A perfect frame coupled with a burst of pace is the last of the key factors which have propelled Tino to the top.
