Top 5 Zim actors who have starred in South African soapies.

It is no secret that Zimbabwe is full of talented actors. Some of them have gone to seek greener pastures in neighbouring South Africa. South African soapies do enjoy a wide audience in Zim and people are always excited to see their own local stars appearing on South African television series. We have narrowed down our list of Zim actors who have made it on the SA bigscreen.

1 Ernst Ndlovu

Ndlovu is a big name in South Africa. He has appeared in television productions such as Inkaba, Home Affairs, 90 Plein street and Egoli among a whole lot others. He started his acting career in Zimbabwe at Amakhosi cultural centre and has never looked back since. Ndlovu has had the privilege to rub shoulders with prominent South African actors like John Kani and Nakedi Ribane. He once stated,” I started acting in Zimbabwe before I went in search of greener pastures in South Africa. Zim provided me with the basic skills which took me where I am today”.

2 Mbo Mahocs

The beautiful socialite and actress hails from Bulawayo. She has been charming viewers in the popurlar etv soapie Scandal taking in the role of Chichi. Mahocs studied at the Media Concepts school of presenting.

3 Chiedza Mhende

Chiedza captivated her audience as a transgender on SABC 1 soapie Generations. She aced her role and was applauded for her amazing acting prowess. Chiedza also has a few accolades to her name including an award best actress at the Durban International Film Festival in 2014 among others. Chiedza studied at AFDA school of motion pictures,medium and live performance.

3 Luthuli Dlamini

Best known for his royal accent and tantalizing voice, Luthuli has become a household name in South Africa. He acted in Scandal for years as the powerful Stan Nyathi. Luthuli went on to get roles in other series auh as Generations and Isidingo.

5 Themba Ntuli

His small, childlike frame has often been a topical issue but Themba has never let his condition pull him down. He played the role of Pule in the much lived soapie Rythm city. Themba also starred in Ekasi, Zaziwa and Shadows. He is truly talented and also owns his own productions company.
