Some daring thieves broke into MacDonald Chidavaenzi’s studio and stole a list of studio equipment worth thousands of dollars. The list of stolen items include some microphones, headphone set, microphone pop filter, microphone cable and back to jack cables among other items. The producer is appealing to anyone who sees these items being sold to contact him on his number. Macdee as he is affectionately known, is the owner of Eternity studios.
Macdee is one of the most prominent producers in the country having produced music for artists such as Trevor D, Oliver Mtukudzi and Ex Q, Dians Samkange and Leonard Mapfumo. The song that he produced for Alexio Kawara (Pfimbi yangu) was awarded a NAMA award in 2007. The producer has an impressive track record and was named the Zinbabwe music awards producer of the year in 2006.
Macdee celebrates his birthday today and most of his fans shared messages of sympathy to his plight. Some said he would eventually recover his tools of trade and that the thieves will certainly be nailed. Macdee simply said that a man must always make a plan. Break ins have become common in the country and with cases of theft on the rise. Some have attributed this phenomenon to the economic crisis and the high levels of unemployment in the country.
