Sebastian Magacha outfit causes furore

Gospel musician Sebastian Magacha has been the subject of all things fashion after launching his latest clothing range. The long and draping outfits seem to have caught the attention of the public.

Magacha announced that he was inspired to come up with the designs by the robes worn by biblical figures such as Jesus in the Bible. Indeed the outfits seem to have captured the essence of style in the medieval Christian era.

The designs mainly received positive reviews. Fashion forward fans applauded the singer for being creative and coming up with unique pieces. They said his outfits matched international standards and could pass off as those of renowned fashion power houses such as Versace.

However some critics slammed the gospel musician for coming up with menswear that looked feminine. They said it seemed to be a promotion of homosexuality which is frowned upon in Zimbabwe. Others alleged that for someone who is in the gospel music industry, Magacha is not supposed to have come up with such designs.

Magacha’s clothing range has sparked a challenge on social media called the ‘Saba challenge’s with most people posting pictures of themselves wearing long pieces of fabric such as curtains, bed covers and sheets.

Sebastian Magacha is a household name in Zimbabwe. He has released songs such as ‘bhosvo’, ‘Mwari weminana’ and ‘Mweya mutsvene’. He recently show cased his acting skills in a skit with Bustop t.v
