Daniel Chingoma relives helicopter dream.
Daniel Chingoma, the man who was famed for constructing a helicopter, has announced his intention to continue the project that he had put on hold. In 2003 Chingoma built a helicopter that he claimed could fly out of scrap metal and a Lexus V8 engine. His dreams of one day flying his own plane had been shattered by the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe when they batter him from flying the helicopter.
Chingoma seemed to have let the issue to rest until a suprise announcement last week that he had in fact secured funding from some sponsors for the project. He stated that he now needed to buy extra parts to make the helicopter air worthy. Chingoma has clearly not given up on his dream and people are expectatntly waiting to see the end product.
Chingoma is also a musician and has released songs such as Nhamo and Njike Njike. In 2010 he formed his own political party called ZITER. He is evidently a man of many abilities but the helicopter project seems to be attracting a lot of public interest.
