John Cole tells us how he got his name
John Cole recently opened up about how he got his name. The handsome faced dancer, choreographer and media personality said his name came about in a way that most people least expected. John said he was the first grandchild in the family and after his birth, he had to wait for about a month before being named.
He said his mother had not given him a name. Not had his father. All other family members were still waiting for the ultimate saviour to come and name the very first grandchild in the family.
John said his grandfather came home one day and held him in his arms . He then produced some money and said the child was to be named after him hence the name John. His grandfather had also been names after his own father. John said this was the day of reckoning and everyone was happy. His father later learnt of the development.
John is an accomplished dancer and has featured in various musi videos including Tichichema and Ngaibake. He has done choreography for various artists both locally and abroad including Ammara Brown and Freeman. He is indeed talented having mastered the art of dancing.
John’s story is synonymous with most people and the issue is quite common in the African set up. The person who takes the honours to name a new born child must pay first before announcing the name.
