Cake colours that are trending

Cakes are no longer hit seen as food items to be devoured but an expression of art. Bakeries are now offering state of the art made pieces that could put sculptors to shame. Cake colours have also evolved as a result. Gone are the days when so called “safe” colours were a thing. The new trend nowadays is that of unorthodox colours being used to decorate cakes.

1 Blacks
As gory as it might sound, black has actually emerged as a favorite colour for most bakers. Black cakes are certainly not for mourning gatherings. These cakes have been spotted at weddings, parties and even bridal showers. People are also experimenting with black cakes incorporated with other colours just to brighten up the cake and give it some edge.

2 Rainbow
A colourful cake with all the colours of the rainbow will surely bring a smile to anyone’s face. Rainbow cakes have become a common trend.

3 Neons
Brightly colored cakes have suddenly become hip and happening. Neon colours, that used to be frowned upon in the past, are now a favourite. Neon green, pink, purple and such other colours are commonly used on cakes nowadays.

4 Naked cakes
Who would have ever thought that a cake with very little icing on the sides could become a huge hit. Naked cakes have also become a common trend and they are all weather cakes. Wedding ceremonies, birthday parties and such other functions are now being celebrated with such cakes as the main centre piece.

5 White
White is a timeless, classic colour.
