T3rry Tempo to Release Highly Anticipated EP ‘Family and Fangs’ – A Journey of Self-Growth

Bulawayo’s own T3rry Tempo is set to release his much-anticipated extended play (EP) album, Family and Fangs, this June. The eight-track project promises to be a deeply personal and introspective exploration of the artist’s transformative journey of self-growth, self-reflection, and overcoming life’s challenges.
In an exclusive interview with NewsDay Life & Style, T3rry Tempo, born Terence Sibanda, described the upcoming EP as a testament to his growth as an artist and individual. “The message is simply to encourage listeners to reflect on their growth and improvement,” he shared. “There are many issues that we encounter in this life that can lead to breakdowns and depressions, and this project is about facing those challenges head-on.”
T3rry Tempo is not only focused on the music but also on ensuring that the visual aspect of the project complements the themes of the EP. “I am currently working on the visual phase for all the songs so they come out at the same time. I have been shooting for the past few days,” he said. Additionally, he hinted at upcoming collaborations, saying, “I am also working on putting out the collaborations I made when I moved to Harare last year.”
The Family and Fangs EP follows the success of T3rry Tempo’s previous project, Moments, which featured collaborations with international artists. Reflecting on those experiences, he shared how working with artists from different parts of the world broadened his perspective on art. “From experience working with international artistes, I got to learn that art is a space where you can express yourself fully without having to hide any of your insecurities,” he explained. “As you grow as an artiste, you get to learn that people come in different packages, and being yourself is one thing that you can do for yourself.”
The album title, Family and Fangs, speaks to the duality of life—the relationships that shape us, as well as the struggles and challenges we must confront along the way. “Family and Fangs is a reflection of the relationships I have with my close ones and also the struggles and challenges that I should confront,” T3rry Tempo revealed.
A dynamic hip-hop artist with a unique vocal ability, T3rry Tempo has built a strong following among the new generation, earning the affectionate title of “Bulawayo’s Golden Boy.” His music has resonated not only with local audiences but also with listeners from across the globe, with his songs topping the charts on radio stations in Africa, including Zimbabwe and Ghana. Furthermore, he has had the privilege of performing alongside artists from the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.
With Family and Fangs set to be released in June, fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in T3rry Tempo’s musical career, and the EP promises to be a significant milestone in his journey of self-expression and artistic growth.
