Travis Greene Set to Uplift Zimbabwe with His Inspiring Gospel Sound

American gospel sensation and multiple Grammy nominee Travis Montorius Greene is once again set to bless Zimbabwean soil with his spiritually charged music on July 18 at the Celebration Centre in Harare. Known for his unique blend of contemporary worship and urban gospel, Greene’s music has captured hearts around the world through anthems like Made A Way, You Waited, and Intentional.

This upcoming performance, organized by GEC Events, marks Greene’s third visit to Zimbabwe. Pastor Lyncolin Kapswara, events director at GEC Events, shared the excitement surrounding the event, highlighting that the evening will be packed with ministry and music as Travis and Friends headline a powerful lineup. Supporting acts will include Forward City Music, Kaestrings, Grace Idowu, Annatoria, Tembalami, and Unveiled.

Born on January 17, 1984, in Delaware and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia, Greene’s life is a testimony to divine intervention. He was pronounced stillborn but was revived, and at age four, he miraculously survived a fall from a four-story building. These early life experiences shaped the core of his musical message — that God is ever-present, able, and faithful.

Greene launched his music career in 2007 with the release of The More under Greenelight Records. His discography has since grown to include impactful albums like Stretching Out (2010), The Hill (2015), Crossover: Live from Music City (2017), and Broken Record (2019). His music has topped the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and earned him multiple Stellar Award wins and Grammy nominations.

While songs like You Waited and Intentional have become gospel staples, it is Made A Way that resonates most deeply with his followers. The song was birthed out of a personal crisis when Greene’s wife’s waters broke just 21 weeks into her pregnancy. Faced with devastating news from doctors, Greene turned to his faith and wrote Made A Way as a declaration of trust in God. The couple’s son survived against all odds, and the song became a global anthem of divine intervention.

Another fan-favourite, You Waited, reflects on God’s patience and unwavering love, while Intentional affirms the belief that all things work together for good because of God’s deliberate purpose. Other notable tracks include Love Will Always Win, a powerful call to overcome adversity with love, and Great Jehovah, a soaring worship song that magnifies God’s majesty.

Beyond music, Greene is the senior pastor of Forward City Church in Columbia, South Carolina, a ministry he leads alongside his wife Jackie. Together, they are raising their three sons, Jace, Josh, and Judah.

As Greene returns to Zimbabwe, fans can expect more than just a concert — it will be a night of testimony, worship, and unity in faith. His powerful lyrics, rooted in personal experience and spiritual conviction, continue to inspire audiences across the globe. For Zimbabwean gospel lovers, July 18 promises to be a soul-stirring encounter with one of gospel music’s most anointed voices.
