Mashonaland West Youths Receive Empowerment Equipment Under Presidential Fund

Youths in Mashonaland West have received a significant boost to their economic aspirations following the distribution of equipment under the US$2 million Presidential Youth Empowerment Revolving Fund. The initiative, launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, aims to support youth-led income-generating projects across all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe.
The latest consignment of equipment was officially handed over to the province’s youth at the ZANU PF provincial party offices in Chinhoyi. Officiating at the event, ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the resources to transform their lives and communities.
“We are edging close to attaining Vision 2030 and with this equipment, you are supposed to play your part in pushing the agenda,” said Cde Mutsvangwa. He encouraged the youth to develop viable business models that will ensure the equipment is used productively and sustainably.
The equipment distributed includes trucks and a front-end loader, tools that are expected to aid in various developmental projects, particularly in construction and land development.
ZANU PF Mashonaland West youth chairperson, Cde Tapiwa Masenda, expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa for his commitment to empowering young people.
“The President warned us against misusing the equipment,” said Cde Masenda. “We are thankful for this opportunity and we are ready to contribute meaningfully to the national development agenda.”
He revealed that the youth in the province have already secured 180 hectares of land in Norton under the Munhumutapa Housing Scheme, where the newly acquired equipment will be put to use. Additional land has been secured in Sanyati, Hurungwe, and Mhondoro-Ngezi, with efforts underway to obtain further plots in Makonde, Zvimba, and Kariba.
The initiative is part of a broader national effort to harness the potential of Zimbabwe’s youth in driving economic growth and social transformation. As more equipment is distributed across the country, the focus remains on accountability, productivity, and sustainable development in line with the government’s Vision 2030.
