Bulawayo-based multi-talented performer Mzoe 7 is gearing up for the second edition of his highly anticipated one-man show, “I Am Who I Am,” set for October 11 at the Bulawayo Theatre. Known for his versatility as a musician, dancer, MC and choreographer, Mzoe 7 is using the platform to expand his brand beyond Zimbabwe while uplifting young talent.

The show is part of the 50 Dates at the Theatre series curated by arts veteran Saimon “Mambazo” Phiri. Mzoe 7 says this edition is designed not only to highlight his artistic evolution but also to showcase emerging performers including Macala, Apd, Vocal X and Asaph Afrika. “The event isn’t just about me. I’m using this platform to support new talent like Macala and Apd, who will share the stage in an exciting showcase of music, dance and performance,” he said.

Rehearsals for the production are in full swing at PES Studios, where Mzoe 7, known for his high-energy performances and signature choreography, is directing the show alongside Mambazo. Dancers, Vocal X and a live band have been putting in long hours to perfect their routines for what promises to be a visually dynamic and entertaining night. “Alongside me is Mambazo, with whom I’m jointly steering the production to ensure a flawless show. Everyone has been working tirelessly to bring this vision to life,” he said.

“I Am Who I Am” is envisioned as a red-carpet, theatre-meets-music spectacle, blending storytelling, live music and performance to inspire and entertain. Mzoe 7 says the production also serves as a vehicle for social impact through his #MajitaLetsTalk initiative, which promotes mental health awareness among young men. “This production is not an easy thing. It requires a lot of focus, hard work and resources. I’m happy the build-up has already generated buzz as I’m intertwining my artistry with social impact,” he explained.

In addition to the performance, Mzoe 7 will unveil a new line of branded caps and T-shirts, expanding his creative empire into the lifestyle space. Fans can expect a mix of theatre, music, and dance in a glamorous red-carpet setting, with both established and emerging stars sharing the stage.

The “I Am Who I Am” show promises to be a celebration of creativity, growth and mentorship, positioning Mzoe 7 as not only a standout performer but also a mentor and advocate for the next generation of Zimbabwean talent.
