Scotts Maphuma Brings High-Energy Sya’Waver Vibes to Gwanda

South African Amapiano superstar Scotts Maphuma lit up Gwanda’s Phoenix Shisanyama in the early hours of Sunday with an electrifying performance that had fans “wavelencing” across the venue. The show, part of the Amapiano Music Festival, delivered high-energy entertainment, leaving a lasting impression on the town’s music lovers ahead of the festive season.

Local acts from Gwanda and Bulawayo opened the night, gradually filling the venue with excitement. Kadder and Khoikhoi kicked off with a well-choreographed duo that displayed their love story, followed by Bhila and Kay_Kid Unfanomsotho, who travelled 120km from Bulawayo to perform their hit track Emaweni, a national favourite at live shows. Freddy K kept the crowd hyped with his chant “Asamb’eGwanda Vibes,” setting the stage for Scotts Maphuma. Mzoe 7 hosted the evening while Zagoe Radge engaged fans with a live performance of Dlozi Lami Vuma. Blvck Operator’s mixing ensured smooth transitions and allowed each act to shine.

At 2:40am, Scotts Maphuma took to the stage, sending fans into a frenzy. Hype man Rich Flavour fired up the crowd, and Maphuma launched into his hit single Sya’Waver. Fans surged forward, eager to experience his signature dance moves live, which have become popular across social media. Dressed in Panstula-inspired attire, he commanded the stage with energy, moving seamlessly between singing and DJing, keeping the crowd on their feet throughout the performance.

After the show, Scotts expressed gratitude to the audience, describing their reception as unforgettable. Bhila shared his joy, saying performing Emaweni in Gwanda reinforced his bond with the community. Khoikhoi also highlighted the excitement of reconnecting with fans and thanked Shisanyama management for the opportunity to perform.

Fans praised the event, with Mthulisi Ndlovu noting the high energy and commending the organisers for showcasing Gwanda as a hub for talent. The performance demonstrated the growing popularity of Amapiano in Zimbabwe and set the tone for more high-energy shows in December.

Scotts Maphuma’s appearance in Gwanda combined infectious beats, dynamic dance moves and a lively atmosphere, leaving the audience eager for the next festival performance.
