Bulawayo-Based Gospel Group Men of Influence to Release Third Album Imvuselelo

Bulawayo-based isicathamiya gospel group Men of Influence is set to release its third album, Imvuselelo, in April 2026, continuing its mission of spreading the gospel and promoting Christian and social values. The 10-track album is inspired by the group’s deep desire to share God’s word while educating society on life values that encourage faith, hope, and moral uprightness. Through this project, Men of Influence aims to combine spiritual growth with meaningful messages that resonate with believers across Zimbabwe.

According to the group, Imvuselelo reflects a renewed commitment to ministry through music. Spokesperson Mthandazo Nyoni said the album’s central theme is revival, emphasizing the importance of remaining steadfast in faith despite life’s challenges. “Imvuselelo is about revival,” Nyoni explained. “It is inspired by our calling to spread the gospel and to educate people on values that shape life. We want to encourage Christians to remain loyal to God and not to lose hope, no matter what challenges they face.”

Nyoni added that the album focuses on God’s love, spiritual renewal, and holding on to faith during difficult times. Through its music, Men of Influence seeks to reassure listeners that God’s presence remains constant, even in moments of hardship. “We are spreading the love of God through our music. This album reminds people that God is always present and that there is hope, even when life feels overwhelming,” he said.

One of the tracks on Imvuselelo addresses the growing problem of drug abuse, particularly among young people. Nyoni explained that the group felt compelled to tackle the issue due to its destructive impact on families and communities. “Our young people are our future leaders and the backbone of our economy, yet many are dying because of drug abuse. Through this song, we are encouraging them to turn to God as a way of fighting this scourge. We believe faith can restore hope, purpose, and direction,” he said.

Imvuselelo follows Men of Influence’s previous albums, which established the group as a respected voice in the isicathamiya gospel genre. The group released its debut album, Ngomhla Wenjabulo, in 2016, followed by Ligeziw’ihlazo in 2019. Nyoni reflected that these earlier works laid a strong foundation for the group’s identity and mission. “Imvuselelo represents growth both musically and spiritually. With this album, we are growing, but our message remains the same: to serve God and uplift our communities,” he said.

The album demonstrates Men of Influence’s continued commitment to using music as a tool for ministry, social awareness, and encouragement. While embracing musical growth, the group remains true to the rich traditions of isicathamiya gospel music. Imvuselelo promises to be a spiritually uplifting and socially conscious project that strengthens the group’s role as both cultural ambassadors and messengers of faith.
