Tano Digital Solutions, a leading Zimbabwean digital company, has received one of Africa’s most esteemed accolades, the Top Cloud Performance Award. The information communication technology (ICT) firm secured the award at the SAP Africa Partner Summit, held two weeks ago in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Founded in 2013, Tano Digital Solutions has expanded its operations across seven African nations, offering services in digital transformation, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, software development, and DevOps. The company’s remarkable growth and innovation in cloud solutions have positioned it as a key player in Africa’s digital ecosystem.
A Testament to Excellence
Wallan Mangere, the CEO of Tano Digital Solutions, described the recognition as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovation of his team, as well as the trust and collaboration they share with clients and partners.
“At Tano, we have always been committed to delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions that empower businesses to transform, scale, and thrive in an increasingly digital world,” Mangere said.
“This award reflects our unwavering focus on excellence and our ability to leverage SAP’s powerful cloud technologies to drive meaningful outcomes for our customers.”
“As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and delivering even greater value to our clients,” he added.
A Key SAP Partner
Tano is a value-added reseller and certified services partner of SAP, the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software. SAP boasts over 230 million cloud users and offers more than 100 solutions covering various business functions, making it the largest cloud portfolio provider globally.
The company operates in six African nations—Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi, and Kenya—along with a presence in the United Kingdom. Tano’s diverse client base includes the public sector, retail, mining, banking, utilities, agriculture, and wholesale distribution.
A Dominant Force in Zimbabwe’s ICT Sector
Tano Digital Solutions has played a pivotal role in reshaping Zimbabwe’s ICT landscape. Upon its launch, it directly challenged the dominance of Twenty Third Century (TTC), which had previously been the primary IT service provider for government departments. Tano became the sole SAP-licensed provider in Zimbabwe after TTC’s licensing was suspended, leading to an intense rivalry between the two companies.
Recognizing Excellence at the SAP Africa Partner Awards 2025
The SAP Africa Partner Awards 2025 also recognized other major players in the ICT sector. South African telecom giant Vodacom was named in the Rising Star category for its outstanding cloud book performance. Deloitte and Dimension Data jointly received the Innovation Award, while Deloitte also won the Go Lives category, which honors the number of successful customer implementations. Additionally, Epi-Use Africa took home the Top Capacity Growth award, and ITGest was named winner of the NNN category for net-new sales and deals.
Future Growth and Expansion
Tano Digital Solutions is on a trajectory to become one of Africa’s largest ICT companies. As part of its aggressive expansion strategy, the company acquired South Africa-headquartered Altron Botswana and Altron Mozambique in 2023. This acquisition introduced new product offerings and partnerships with top OEMs such as Oracle, NCR, CISCO, and XEROX.
With its latest achievement and continued growth, Tano Digital Solutions is well-positioned to shape the future of ICT in Africa, driving innovation and digital transformation across industries.
