Oprah Winfrey foundation calls for applications.
The Oprah Winfrey foundation in patnership with the New York University is calling or applications for a fully funded schorlaship to all African women interested in the public service. The aim of the initiative is to empower African women and help in creating Africa led solutions to pressing issues bedevilling the African continent.
The schorlaship will see selected African women being afforded a chance to study at New York University’s Wagner graduate school of public service.The foundation will provide full tuition,fees,housing,travel to and from the USA and all other expenses. The main aim of this opportunity is to expand the opportunity for African women who want to change public service in their countries.
For one to qualify for selection, she has to be a citizen and resident in an African country, have a strong academic record and also show evidence of proven commitment to their country and the continent at large. To apply one simply has to submit an essay, a one minute video and ten fill an online application form by 2 December 2019. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview via Skype by mid 2020.
Recipients must commit to returning to their countries when the programme comes to an end and meaningfully contribute to eradicating challenges being faced in their respective countries. They must come back with the drive to take on leadership positions in their home countries.
