Will Khama Billiat bounce back?

Warriors talisman Khama Billiat is still without a club since leaving Kaizer Chiefs after the expiry of his contract with the Soweto giants in June.

Many thought the former Caps United forward by now would have been back in action especially after recovering from injury, but it is a different story altogether as the talented player is still in the peripheries.

Some few months back, rumour mill had it that the Zimbabwean was heavily linked with a move to Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek but the deal has since remained in the corridors with nothing concrete recorded to date.

Before all this drama surrounding the future of Billiat, vis-a-vis his playing time unfolded, the Glamour Boys are believed to have initially tabled a new offer for the player to stay at Naturena but that did not materialise owing to money reasons.

Kaizer Chiefs were said to have offered the Zimbabwean a pay cut for him to remain an Amakhosi player, something that Billiat’s camp did not take lightly and opted not to renew his [Billiat] contract.

But now that the player is still clubless since that time [June], it could have been wiser had his handlers chose to negotiate with the Glamour Boys and at least try to get a better deal for the player, probably by now he would have been playing.

With age, coupled by some injuries, taking a toll on him, it is increasing becoming difficult for the Zimbabwean international to get a club that will offer him as much as he was getting at Kaizer Chiefs especially in the DStv Premiership, unless if he moves to either Saudi Arabia or Tanzania where clubs from that end are offering lucrative packages for players.
