Lyshanda Moyas Heads to Thailand for Miss Universe 2025, Poised to Represent Zimbabwe

As she departs this afternoon for Thailand, reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe Lyshanda Moyas is set to represent the nation at the Miss Universe 2025 competition. Social media analysis and global pageantry polls have identified her as one of the strongest African contenders, praised for her eloquence, elegance, and authenticity. Fans worldwide are rallying behind her under the hashtag #TeamZimbabwe, confident she will uphold the national flag with pride.

The Miss Universe pageant gathers over 90 contestants from across the globe, celebrating intelligence, confidence, and compassion. The 2025 edition takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, with three weeks of activities leading up to the grand coronation night on 21 November at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. Victoria Theilvig of Denmark will crown her successor at the event.

Lyshanda follows in the footsteps of Sakhile Dube, who represented Zimbabwe last year after the country returned to the Miss Universe stage. This year, Lyshanda carries forward that legacy, bringing purpose, poise, and a mission focused on empowerment and service.

When asked about her readiness for Miss Universe, Lyshanda said she has invested countless hours in preparation. She emphasized that life is full of uncertainties but expressed confidence that the three weeks in camp will sharpen her skills, broaden her perspective, and provide learning opportunities from other contestants.

Reflecting on her reign, Lyshanda noted that it has been a period of challenges, triumphs, and personal growth. She highlighted lessons in resilience, humility, leadership, and innovation. Every challenge, she said, strengthened her character and clarified her purpose, refining her brand and improving her ability to collaborate with diverse partners.

For her national costume, she collaborated with Ivhu Tribe, and her evening gown was designed by Zargue’sia. Both designers created pieces that showcase Zimbabwean identity, artistry, and pride.

Her pageant preparation included walk coaching by Royce Gavi, founder of Scarlet Studios, and speech coaching by Mr Gombera, a life coach and banker. Lyshanda credited both mentors for refining her confidence, stage presence, and communication skills.

Lyshanda’s advocacy focuses on sustainable development, particularly for teenage mothers in marginalized communities. Her initiatives provide technical and vocational skills in soap making, sewing, and entrepreneurship. Since inception, the programs have raised over US$60,000 and empowered more than 300 teen mothers, transforming dependency into dignity and contributing to Zimbabwe’s economy.

Addressing Zimbabweans ahead of the competition, Lyshanda encouraged them to believe in their dreams. She pledged to represent the nation with grace, courage, and authenticity, promoting a story of resilience, unity, and pride on the global stage.

Zimbabweans are watching closely as Lyshanda Moyas prepares to make an impact at Miss Universe 2025, blending beauty, intellect, and social purpose.
