Zim Legend Brian Rusike Dies

Growing up in Zimbabwe, a certain generation will remember the love song ‘Ruva Rangu’. The classic Zimbabwean love song was written by Brian Rusike. Sadly the 80s legend passed away on Wednesday.

According to reports,he was found dead at his home in Gunhill, according to friends.

Rusike was one of Zimbabwe’s prolific songwriters and keyboadist. He was a member of the Pied Pipers, one of the leading bands of the 1980s. The band churned out a string of hits, but it is “Ruva Rangu” that has emerged as their most recognised recording.

The song has  been covered by many artistes, among them former urban groover David Chifunyise and jazz singer Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana.
