Zimbabwean Artist Mwendamberi to Shine at 2025 Music In Africa ACCES in Tshwane

Zimbabwean musician Mwendamberi is set to represent the country on one of Africa’s largest music stages this October at the 2025 Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES). The event will take place from October 30 to November 1 in Tshwane, South Africa’s administrative capital, hosting over 1 000 delegates, industry leaders, and creatives from more than 45 countries.
Mwendamberi, celebrated for blending traditional Zimbabwean sounds with modern Afro-fusion, will perform at the two-day Showcase Festival alongside more than 80 other musicians. The line-up features prominent African artists including Focalistic, Mörda, Zoë Modiga, Bokani Dyer, and Kekelingo. His performance will be seen by an international audience of producers, label executives, festival curators, and media representatives, offering exposure to key global decision-makers.
The 2025 ACCES programme will cover critical discussions shaping Africa’s music ecosystem, including artist protection, financing, festival development, and the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. Organisers say the conference aims to foster business linkages, collaboration, and new opportunities for African artists.
“ACCES has become the meeting point for the world’s music industry and Africa’s creative heartbeat,” said Eddie Hatitye, Executive Director of the Music In Africa Foundation. “With Tshwane as our host city this year, we are creating a space where African voices can influence the global conversation, and where new opportunities for collaboration, trade and investment will be born.”
For Mwendamberi, performing at ACCES could be a career-defining moment. The platform gives Zimbabwean music unprecedented visibility, connecting him with international festival bookers, Grammy-winning producers, and global audiences. His participation underscores the growing recognition of Zimbabwe’s music scene and highlights the country’s potential to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s creative economy.
The ACCES 2025 event positions Mwendamberi and his peers as key ambassadors of African music, blending heritage and innovation while opening pathways to international collaboration and recognition.
