Young lawyer, Advocate Gina Mabwe shines.Dishes out advice to all working women.
Advocate Gina Mabwe is one inspirational woman. The top shot lawyer has just achieved another important milestone in her career. She recently graduated with a Master’s degree in International Trade and Investment Law in Africa doubled with a prize in the International Trade module. Mabwe took to Facebook to parade her latest achievement. She however said that it had not been a walk in the park. She had commenced studies when her son was only 11 months old to go and study for her Master’s in South Africa.
She said the following months were filled with constant shuttling between South Africa and Zimbabwe and she had to leave her son with her husband. She also had to deal with a demanding court practice. Added to the qualification was a certificate course in Trade and gender (UN), Advanced business and human resources (UP) and she had an opportunity to present her paper as a young scholar at the UNCTAD Summer school in Geneva Switzerland. Mabee encouraged all women to strike a balance between their careers and family.
The intelligent lawyer was part of the delegation of lawyers that represented Advocate Nelson Chamisa during the election challenge Constitutional case. She also represented an aspiring presidential candidate Noah Manyika. Surely, young female lawyers and those from other professions can take a leaf from Gina who, despite challenges, managed to rise to the top and conquer.
