“…Keep it up champ”, Steve Harvey congratulates Zim comedian .
Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi, commonly known as Long John recently made history after being awarded the People’s choice award at the Steve Harvey Stand Up Spotlight competition.
Long John was the only African candidate to be selected for the final round after beating more than 1000 entrants in the preliminary rounds. Steve Harvey congratulated the young man and tweeted,”Congratulations man, you were funny, animated and have great stage presence. Keep it up champ”.
Long John beat stiff competition to claim the award. He certainly made his country proud. Various publications had called for people to vote for him after he was selected for the final leg of the competition. Bustop TV had even made a short video encouraging people to vote for the funny young man. The campaign indeed yielded positive results.
Long John is renowned for his quirky sense of humour and hillarious jokes. Stand up comedy is not easy but the young man always nails it. He was won several awards prior to his latest achievement. Having been recognised at such a platform, with Steve Harvey being regarded as one of the best comedians of all time, the young man is set for a brighter future
Most people have been heaping praises upon the young man for achieving this milestone. Others have called on it her young comedians to emulate such initiatives and take their comedy beyond the country’s boarders.
