Henry Olonga entices the world.

Former Zimbabwean cricketer and musician Henry Olonga wowed judges at the auditions for the popurlar television show The Voice Australlia. The dark coloured former sportsman sang his heart out much to the excitement of the audience. He also confessed that all he wants to do now is to sing.

Henry Olonga skillfully and melodiously sang Anthony Warlow’s song ‘This is the moment’. He perfomed it so well that the judges at the show, namely, Kelly Rowland, Boy George, Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian all gave him a standing ovation. The audience was clearly enticed by Olonga’s deep voice and composure.

Many people felt proud of Olonga and commended him for showing off his musical genes as well as raising the country’s flag high. This praise was however, overshadowed by the sentiments that Olonga went on to utter. Quized by the judges on his singing prowess the former cricketer proffessed that all that he ever wanted to do in his life was to sing. He stated that he had been a trash cricketer and cricket was simply trash. The words were contstrued to mean that Olonga did not have any regard for Zimbabwean cricket which he had played so well back in the days.

Most people were quick to reprimand Olonga for having trash talked Zinbabwran cricket to the whole world. Others confessed that they had viewed him as a man with honour and dignity but after his revelations about his own country and it’s sport, they felt he did not deserve such honour.

A few, however came to his defence and highlited that in order for Olonga to have made it in the show it was necessary for him to downplay his cricket playing abilities and illuminate his singing ability.

Henry Olonga’d cricket career spanned 8 years before he went on exile after having received death threats. He has however, always been a good singer having releaseda song about Zimbabwe.
