Young entrepreneurs receive thousands of dollars through YEP.

Young people that took part in the just ended Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP), an initiative of CBZ bank have been implored to implement their business ideas and grow them into Small to Medium Enterprises(SMEs) in order to benefit the economy. Nearly 4 thousand youths have undergone training under the YEP program. The initiative is designed to equipment young people with skills to start their businesses.

This is the fourth year running for YEP. The program focuses on essential elements of business development, self reliance and sustainability. To date it has reached areas such as Lupane,Binga and parts of Masvingo among others. CBZ senior managing director Mr Nobert Mureriwa had this to say at the event,”I would like to see this year’s winners moving to the sme level and mentoring other upcoming entrepreneurs through a robust network of entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe and the world at large”.

Lienne Shonhiwa of Manetain organics,a hair care company, scooped the first prize of ZWL16 000 in the established business category. Ian Kazingizi of Agrimarine solutions was the first runner up whilst Gamuchirai Chikungwa whose company specialises in leather products finished off as second runner up
